Homework due for Friday Sept. 26, 2008

I am sure you are looking forward to the public holiday on Tuesday even though we will be missing computer class.  Don`t worry though because there is a bit of homework for you to do!  Please read pgs. 170-171 and answer the following questions*

1.  Pg. 171, question 1 (3 pts)

2.  Pg. 171, question 2 (3 pts)

3.  Pg. 171, question 3 - only answer for EDI and e-commerce.  You do not have to answer for encryption because we just answer that earlier in the unit (2 pts each)

Next Friday we will take these up and then start discussing the Life Cycle of a Computer System.  To prepare for this please read pgs. 162-163.  There are no questions to answer but it is in your best interest to read this ahead of time.  Previous classes found this to be a fairly difficult topic to comprehend so prior reading of the material before hand will help you understand the concepts easier.

5. What is an IP address? Why is this so important for computers on the Internet? (3 pts)

1. Of the advantages of the internet listed on Pg. 168 in your opinion which is the most important? Explain why? (2 pts)
2. Rank, in order of most troubling to least troubling for the average internet user, the disadvantages of the internet found on pg. 169 (6 pts)
