Summarizing the Year...
Welcome to our new students. Coming in half way through this course is not impossible, but it is a big challenge. To help you (and to serve as a reminder to those of you returning) here is a summary of the past year. First of all the three websites you will use the most are the following three:
The Syllabus (and other information) from Cambridge
Teach-ICT
BBC's IGCSE site
From the syllabus (note: we are the 2009 year) found in the top website we have covered the following:
- Theory sections: 1, 2 (most), 3, 5, 7 e, f, g, i, k (EFTPOS)
- Practical sections: 10, 11 (we need to review this in great detail as we only briefly looked at it), 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16.
That is quite a bit! Of course we will review most of this throughout year 2. Also in year 2 we will cover the following:
- Theory sections: 4, 6, (most of) 7, 8,
- Practical sections: 9
In terms of our ICT for IGCSE text book we have covered pages: 6-55, 62-89, 98-105, 106-117 (will review in greater detail)
This year (2008-2009) we will cover pages 56-59, 90-95, 106-117 (in-depth review), 118-183. As well, to prepare for the IGCSE Final Exams we will look at pages 184-219.
We have a lot of work to do, so let's get to it!
